Dr Golnoush studied natural sciences and specialised in genetics at the University of Cambridge, her final work in this field was completed at the Gurdon Institute on the genetics of embryo development. She completed her PhD at Royal Holloway, working on gene therapy for neuromuscular disease. The project was focused on the development of anti-fibrotic antisense based drugs to tackle fibrotic replacement of muscle in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy patients.
